Complaints I've come across include: - Many patients discharged with no information on how to care for their nephrostomy or how to arrange their weekly tube flushes and bag changes which are essential - District nurses who aren't trained in flushing, requiring the patient to then attend A+E - District nurses unaware on how to contact the local hospitals urology department - Several patients who's partners have had to learn how to flush a nephrostomy and change the collecting bag because it's a struggle to find a district nurse to do it who has recieved appropriate training - A patient whose nephrostomy tube was cut through with scissors by a practise nurse resulting in needing emergency surgery to change the tube -A pregnant patient who's nurse during a hospital admission didn't know how to change the bag correctly resulting in her waking up three times during one night laying in her urine due to a bag that wasn't securely attached
